" Bahia, A terra da alegria!" – ( Bahia, the land of joy! ). This is a very famous statement which reflects the joy, happy and hospitable essence of the people from Bahia.

Bahia is the 5th biggest State in geographic space in Brazil, owning an area of 567.295,03 km² and 417 towns, having its capital in Salvador, the 3rd biggest city of Brazil in number of population.
