The economy of Bahia is very diversified. The most important sectors are the metalurgy, the agriculture and agro-industry, cattle industry, mineral exploration, civil constructions and tourism.

The territory has an extention of 56 millions based on hectare, whose 32 millions are possible areas for agriculture. The plantations take 4 millions based on hectare and the lands for cattle take 15 millions based on hectare. There still remains 13 millions which are available for agriculture. For example, nowadays there is the Programa para o Desenvolvimento do Agronegócio Bahiano (2003/2007) ( Programme for the agrobusiness development in Bahia). Moreover, the president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has released, a special economic plan regarding agriculture and cattle growing in 2004/2005 (Plano Safra), according to the newspaper A Tarde. This new plan for agriculture includes new financial ways to investors which will help them to get more independence concerning official loans; the government will have to pay only the difference between the market quotations and the offered prices released by the private sector regarding to a certain product.

For investiments in the Capital and in the Metropolitan Area, there are a great variety of possibilities with products and services which are necessary to attend the population demand. This demands have not yet been attended due to the fact that people in Bahia do not have enough financial ways to start a sustanable business.Although if you have just a reasonable economy (it is not necessary to have so much money) you can change your life for much better, getting success and be very happy with your investiments in Bahia.
