Although as cosultants we can give you our oppinion concerning the prices telling if they are high, low or if the market value regarding the area where the property is placed is going to increase or not.
We suggest that the buyer make an offer to negociate with the seller. Pehaps the practice of bargain is not very offen in many european countries, in Brazil it is very common. Besides, the seller waits for this attitude from the possible buyers. Sometimes it really works. Specially when the buyer is supposed to pay in cash on sight draft, BARGAIN can be a great idea.
Another very common commercial behaviour in Bahia is the reaction of people if you show that you have money or if you are a foreigner. They may probably increase the prices because these facts. Unfortunatly this reality is not only concerning to properties, but also to everything regarding to trade in Bahia. It also happens when the resident foreigners intend to sell something to another foreigner only because they are supposed to be more reliabe or because of their possibility to communicate in a native language.
We suggest you that you must deal before buying. At first you have to make an offer that is lower than the required price. Then the owner tends to decrease a little his price while you also increase yours a little. Certainly you both will get a fair price. Just be careful to do it or you can turn the deal into something impossible.
